Fearless Girl is my hero
So we debate the end of great advertising? Not a chance. Bring up a stunt (yes) called Fearless Girl....Fearless Girl is a bronze sculpture by Kristen Visbal, commissioned by State Street Global Advisors via McCann New York, depicting a Latina girl looking at the well-known Charging Bull (or "Wall Street bull") . An "ad" for investment firm State Street Global Advisors for an index fund which comprises gender-diverse companies that have a higher percentage of women among their senior leadership. The plaque below the statue states, "Know the power of women in leadership. SHE makes a difference," with "SHE" being both a descriptive pronoun and the fund's NASDAQ ticker symbol. Will it work? Not sure but it did create its share of controversy
At the end of the dat Fearless Girl created debate on investment choices, gender equality, the ethical issues of making money at all cost. I think that is the point.
