Age is the new discrimination
While I have never personally felt age discrimination I do recognize it is a reality (and rage against it). With several friends now looking for new employment I wanted to send out a note reminding us all to look at human talent based on attitude, ability to deliver outcomes, wisdom and leadership, and not age. Having spent the majority of my career as "one of the youngest" I am now "one of the oldest" and proud of it....i feel it can be a huge competitive advantage.
Here is some practical advice: "Clearly, for the millions of boomer women who hope to keep working full-time or transition into part-time or “bridge jobs” during retirement, this study offers a sobering reminder that age discrimination is, sadly, very much alive and well."
